The sixth version of my Geometric Lace blanket for a wonderful return customer in Utah – she bought this one too!
Check out the pattern for sale on Ravelry and Etsy, or look into buying this blanket as a custom, handmade item.
I started this blanket off with a bang to get it ready in time for the birthday of the recipient. I made this whole 50×65″ blanket – 86 join-as-you-go hexes and a lace border – in two days! Talk about Xtreme Crochet 😉
The custom request was for a blanket with turquoise meshed in with light and dark blues. What a fun palette to work with – I enjoyed fading the colors dark to light.
Here is a better shot of the progress. I try to blend the colors as best as I can.
Closer shot.
Okay, on every single Geometric Lace blanket that I have made, I have made up different lace. Since this blanket has bigger motifs, I used a treble round to add height to the gaps before adding the wagon wheel lace to fill in. On other ones, the smaller hexes have allowed me to use a shorter stitch. I like how the trebles came out though. When I do a pattern update, I’ll be showing charted patterns for 3.5″, 4.5″, and 6″ hexes.
And here are some views of the finished blanket. I sincerely love this blanket. The turquoise and white is just sublime. ❤ 🙂
This is a beautiful color combination! Great pattern too!
