One of my favorite Gumball blankets – Headed to Hong Kong!
Check out the pattern for sale on Ravelry and Etsy, or look into buying this blanket as a custom, handmade item.
I had four Gumball blankets in my queue at this time, so to speed it up, I made all of the centers at once! The centers for this blanket are near the top of the picture above.
Below you’ll find the finished circles ready to join. I had so much fun making this blanket using five shades of pink and four shades of teal. I debated whether I would pair light shades together and dark shades together and do a fading effect, or if I would mix them up randomly. I decided to mix the shades and it came out very cute! I will try the artsy faded look one day though.
I get asked over and over how I manage to find time to finish so many projects. In the photo above, I was joining motifs in the car-rider line picking up eldest from school. Where there’s a will, there’s a way – as they say.. 🙂
To make sure that I met the width requirements, I added two rounds of DC and one round of DC, CH1, SK1 before the usual reverse SC border that I like for this blanket.
More photos of the finished blanket – I really like this one!
